Background:
The cosmetics and fragrances division of Procter and Gamble (brands include Hugo Boss, Dunhill, Lacoste) required an online ordering system for their distributors (both internal and external) around the World. This was to allow them to place orders quickly and easily. It needed to be able to handle bursts of high traffic while marketing initiatives were being launched.
Previously a physical marketing book was being mailed to distributors who would complete a paper order and mail it back.
The Lynx Solution:
- Use Evolve as the e-commerce platform
- Multiple logins and users
- Users can browse brands and initiatives before placing orders
- Orders are downloaded into Cosmos the P&G internal ordering system to update stock levels
Results:
The project started in March 2001 and went live the same year. The number of brands and initiatives using the online system has increased and the solution and client relationship is going strong in 2007.

Edexcel - UK's largest awarding body
Consumer E-commerce system for students to order and download past exam papers

Background:
Edexcel (part of Pearson group) are the awarding body for GCSE and A level in the UK. They required an online web store where students could easily find past papers for their subjects and download the pdf files directly from the website for a fee. The timescale was tight and the anticipated volumes massive. It was also important to keep the client on the Evolve upgrade path.
The Lynx Solution:
- Uses Evolve as the e-commerce platform
- Integration of third party web services for subscription sales
- Addition of ad-hoc reports and some custom development
- Project rushed through in 4 weeks
Results:
- The high profile project started in March 2006 and went live in April 2006 on Edexcel's own servers

Home Office - Credit Agricole - Atos Origin
IT Procurement and Service request System


Background:
E-procurement of IT goods and services streamlines operations and saves money. Lynx have developed a system to allow employees to place orders for their IT needs via an online store. This online store takes feeds from suppliers, products and services that are manually entered and allows the request of non standard items. Approval workflow with full reporting, allows fulfillment of requests by the IT Service Desk.
The Lynx Solution:
- Use Evolve as the e-commerce platform to allow for standard and non standard requests
- Build in approvers with approval levels and approval business rules
- Incorporate approval process into full workflow
- Sends out emails to relevant parties at all stages of process
- Allow suppliers own back end logins to manage their own products and prices
- Full reporting suite for all interested parties to track requests and workflows.
Results:
- The Home Office project was successfully delivered in 2005 with several thousand users
- Credit Agricole was delivered in 2006
- The service is the basis of the Lynx E-procurement marketplace
Rangemaster Cookers (part of AGA group)
B to B Ecommerce system for their distributors and retailers integrated with ERP system

Background:
Rangemaster wanted an online ordering system for their retailers and distributors. The retailers (such as Comet) could then place orders for their stores and manage delivery times, credit limits and track orders.
The Lynx Solution:
- Use Evolve as the e-commerce platform
- Build in multiple branches and users per retailer with their own logins and a super user for every retailer who can control the users and branches
- Allow Credit Limits to be set per user so retailers super user can control ordering from its branches
- Allow for multiple pricing levels to be set by Rangemaster - so set different prices for different retailers
- Multiple order statuses
- Provide logins for users so they can not only place orders but track orders online to manage delivery times
- Integrate with their existing ERP system (Tropos) for orders, customers and stock. Totally real time system - with batch uploads for fast browsing but with real time queries when an action is taken.
Results:
- Within 6 months more than 50% of orders were placed online
- The online ordering system handles 1,300 order per month with an average total value of 250k
- There are 350 retailers using the system, with 800 users and branches
- The system has just been rolled out to Rangemaster France
- The initial implementation saved 22 jobs
Northern Tool - Top 10 US ecommerce site
B2C ecommerce site integrated with AS400

Background:
Northern tool was traditionally a mail order business - sending out 3.5m catalogues a year in the UK. This project aimed to move orders from the phone to online and to increase business by selling to a new online public.

Background:
Kite packaging is a B2B supplier of packaging products. A continuous stream of enquiries from consumer encouraged them to sell direct. However an automated model was necessary since they cannot deal with large numbers of incoming calls effectively.
